3D Active And Passive 3D

3D active and passive 3D

The two types of 3D technology commonly used for home entertainment are 3D active and passive 3D. Although there are many aspects that differentiate the two technologies, the main one is referring to the 3D image quality. The technology uses passive 3D glasses that reduce half 1080p resolution (540p) in each eye. Active 3D glasses from Samsung provide quality Full HD 1080p in both eyes.

When viewing 3D content on a 3D TV with passive, it is common that a faint black lines horizontally across the screen from top to bottom, or lose 3D image quality in relatively short vertical angles appear. None of this happens with active 3D technology Samsung. This technology shows a homogeneous HD quality 1080p to each eye and is characterized by a high image quality, even from angles up to 178 °.
